Here’s that crowd-pleasing, reliable everyday espresso. This washed Colombian coffee also works beautifully as a darker-roasted filter coffee. Expect notes of ripe, full-bodied plum and red apple, with a brown sugar sweetness in the finish.
Timaná is one of Colombia’s oldest indigenous settlements. The region is known for its unique geography and waterways: it’s surrounded not only by the Andes but also by the Magdalena and Golden rivers. This combination of geographical factors gives the area’s coffees their balanced, layered character.
Timaná’s coffee farmers are descendants of three indigenous peoples who once joined forces to fight the Spanish conquistadors.
The farmers producing Timanco coffee come from Tarqui and Timaná, and their farms range from 1 to 5 hectares. Most of them work as a family, with each member playing their own role in coffee production. What unites the farmers is the dedication and passion with which they grow their coffee.
Since the brand was founded and more and more farmers have joined, the farms have seen significant changes: wet mills have been upgraded and drying areas expanded. With the support of a PECA agronomist, the farmers have also built their skills in areas such as processing, cherry picking, fermentation, drying, and identifying pests and diseases.
The same coffee is also available as a lighter filter roast: Timanco Filter.
